President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Hany Eteiba, said in Manipal on Sunday that knowledge and science gain true meaning only when paired with humanity, attentive listening, and genuine connection.
Delivering the 33rd convocation address of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) on the last day of the three-day convocation in Manipal, Dr. Eteiba said: “Effective communication is our bridge allowing us to translate knowledge into meaningful impact and care.”
Dr. Eteiba advised the graduates to value collaboration, reminding that no milestone is achieved alone, and no success is created in isolation.
He said that graduates must anchor their professional journey in trust, dignity, and human-centered leadership.
As many as 1,645 students received their degrees, including 58 PhD graduates, on the third day of the convocation. In addition, three outstanding students were honoured with the Dr. TMA Pai Gold Medal.
MAHE will continue the 33rd convocation at the Bengaluru campus on November 29 and 30.
Vice-Chancellor Lt. Gen. M.D. Venkatesh highlighted the university’s initiatives to serve the local community and preserve living cultures. He emphasised the importance of extending education beyond academics to foster care, compassion, and responsibility among students.
