A no-confidence motion against S. Thilagavathi, chairperson of Kodumudi Town Panchayat, is scheduled on Tuesday (November 11, 2025) following directions from the Madras High Court.
The panchayat has 15 ward members, including eight from the DMK, one from the AIADMK, three from the Congress, and three independents. In March, a no-confidence motion was passed against Ms. Thilagavathi, leading to the issuance of a Government Order on June 23 disqualifying her from office. She subsequently obtained an interim stay from the Madras High Court.
Twelve ward members had earlier approached the court seeking a no-confidence vote against the chairperson. In line with the court’s directions, the Executive Officer will issue notices to all ward members ahead of the motion, which will be conducted under the supervision of the Revenue Divisional Officer of Erode.
