Kollam revenue district School Kalolsavam (Art Festival) will be held in Anchal from November 25 to 29, said Department officials at a press meet here on Sunday.
Anchal East Higher Secondary School will serve as the main venue, with the competitions spread across a total of 13 stages. The events are divided into five categories: U.P. General, High School General, Higher Secondary General, U.P. and High School Arabic Sahithyolsavam, and U.P. and High School Samskritholsavam. The festival will feature 38 items in the U.P. section, 95 items in the High School General section, and 105 items in the Higher Secondary General section. Additionally, both the Arabic Sahithyolsavam and the Samskritholsavam will have 19 events each. Officials said that a total of 14 sub-committees have been formed for the successful conduct of the Kalolsavam.
The various venues for the Kalolsavam have been named after famous rivers. The Main Venue (Anchal East HSS) is named Ganga. The remaining venues include Parish Hall (Kabani), B.V. U.P.S. School) is (Kaveri), Government L.P.S. auditorium (Godavari), University B.Ed. auditorium (Pambar),Government West H.S.S. auditorium (Nila),Government West H.S.S. Hall (Neyyar), Jawahar H.S.S., Edamulakkal (Pamba), Jawahar H.S.S hall (Narmada), Sabarigiri School main hall (Bhavani, Sabarigiri B.Ed. hall (Periyar), and Government L.P.S., Agasthyacode (Yamuna).
The registration for the participants is scheduled to commence at 2 p.m. on November 24 at Government. H.S.S, Anchal East. The Kalolsavam will officially begin on November 25 with the general convener hoisting the flag at 8.30 a.m. followed by the inaugural function. District Collector N Devidas will inaugurate the event and Deputy Director of Education will preside over the function. The festival will conclude with the valedictory function on November 29 which will be inaugurated by director Rajeev Anchal.
