The road from Konakkarai crematorium to Kudamurutti will be closed for traffic from Wednesday (November 5) to facilitate the construction of a new link road.
Work is under way to build a 2.12-km bypass connecting Woraiyur with Kudamurutti along the eastern bank of the Uyyakondan. As part of the project, the construction of concrete pillars for an elevated overbridge at the Konakkarai road section is scheduled to begin soon.
An official statement from the Corporation said that the road from Konakkarai crematorium to Kudamurutti will be temporarily closed starting Wednesday to facilitate construction. Vehicular movement will continue from Woraiyur to the Konakkarai crematorium. The public is advised to use the Annamalai Nagar Main Road as an alternative route until the completion of the overbridge.
