‘Koti Vattika Deepotsavam’, the festival of one crore lamps, was organised at Sri Bhoo Sametha Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Dokiparru village in Krishna district on the occasion of Karthika Pournami on Wednesday (November 5).
The event was held under the supervision of temple founders and trustees P.V. Krishna Reddy and Sudha Reddy. Large numbers of devotees from the village and nearby regions took part, according to a press release.
Temple trustees provided all required puja materials for free. The celebrations included Abhishekam, Archana, and various sacred rituals conducted in accordance with Vaikhanasa Bhagavata traditions by Vedic scholars, filling the atmosphere with spiritual fervour.
As part of the Deepotsavam, the temple courtyard was filled with thousands of lamps, each with 365 wicks symbolising the days of the year. Devotees chanted prayers and hymns and the entire temple complex was adorned with vibrant electrical decorations.
