KSDB chairman promises record of rights to Heggeri Maruti Nagar residents

Chairman of Karnataka Slum Development Board (KSDB) and MLA Prasad Abbayya has said that an area of 5.28 acres at Heggeri Maruti Nagar in Hubballi had been handed over to KSDB from the Revenue Department and soon the residents would be issued record of rights.

He was addressing a gathering after performing bhoomi puja for construction of concrete road and underground drainage work worth ₹1 crore at Heggeri Maruti Nagar in Hubballi on Saturday.

Mr. Prasad said that the MLA of the constituency and HDMC councillor of the area had urged the government to bring the area under slum board for facilitating development of it. “Accordingly the locality spread over 5 acres 28 guntas has been brought under KSDB. Soon survey will be conducted and demarcate the boundary and steps will be taken to issue record of rights,” he said.

The KSDB chairman said that across Karnataka, the slum board had constructed around 42,000 houses. “In the State-level programme to be held on Mantur Road in Hubballi on November 29, keys of the newly constructed houses to all the beneficiaries would be handed over,” he said.

He also promised to extend various amenities to the slum dwellers and the poor in various localities. Hubballi Dharwad Central MLA Mahesh Tenginakai, HDMC councillor Chetan Hirekerur and others were present.
