An intensive training programme for Naval officers was held recently at the Faculty of Ocean Science and Technology (FOST), Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (Kufos), as part of the eighth Advanced Oceanographic Course run by the School of Naval Oceanography and Meteorology.
The programme, convened by Dr Phiros Shah, Head of the Department of Oceanography at the varsity, brought serving naval officers together with FOST faculty to strengthen operational understanding of oceanographic and atmospheric processes critical to maritime operations. FOST Dean Dr Radhika Rajasree S.R. inaugurated the programme. The Naval officers were provided with the latest perspectives on sea state, currents, and other ocean dynamics, according to a communication.
