Departments of Physical, Chemical and Biological Sciences of Lady Doak College are jointly conducting a three day International Academia – Industry – Innovation Conclave (AIIC – 2025) on the theme ‘Science Driven – Industry Powered – Future Focused’. The event was inaugurated on Thursday.
The conclave sponsored by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is aimed to bridge academia and industry by fostering research collaboration, innovation and a vibrant startup culture through invited talks, exhibitions, pitch sessions and interactive platforms, said the press release.
The programme aligned with NEP 2020, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, national missions, including Digital India, Startup India and Viksit Bharat with a strong focus on sustainable solutions in Energy, Environment, and Healthcare.
Director General, CSIR and Secretary, DSIR N. Kalaiselvi, in her address through video conference, highlighted the significance of unlearning obsolete practices. She encouraged students to explore beyond conventional boundaries to develop biodegradable and sustainable alternatives for the future.
Former Deputy Director, URSC–ISRO, N. Valarmathi, shared her journey from humble beginnings to leading one of India’s landmark space missions while also emphasising the growing importance of space exploration and India’s emerging global leadership in the field.
AIIC – 2025 featured distinguished national and international speakers including scientists and industry leaders from ISRO, various CSIR laboratories, IIT Madras and other renowned institutions. The Conclave will be a dynamic platform for the young researchers to present their work through oral, poster, and virtual presentations, the press release said.
An MoU was signed between Lady Doak College and IMAI Research and Development, USA, aimed at promoting joint research initiatives, internships and training programmes, the press release added.
