A strong pro-LDF wave is sweeping across Kerala and the front’s victory this time will be even larger than in 2020, CPI secretary Binoy Viswam said on Saturday. He was speaking at Vote Vibe 2025, the election programme organised by the Thrissur Press Club.

“The people of Kerala are with the LDF. The State is witnessing comprehensive development under this government,” Mr. Viswam said. “The eradication of extreme poverty here has become a model for the entire world. Now our goal is to eradicate poverty itself.”

Mr. Viswam accused the Congress of abandoning its ideological legacy. “With blind animosity towards the Left, the Congress is trying to forge an unholy alliance with communal-fascist forces that Nehru and Gandhi opposed until their death,” he said. “The BJP and UDF are united in their hostility toward the LDF. Their policies and ideologies now look the same.”

On PM SHRI

On PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising School), Mr. Viswam reiterated that the Left parties stand united. “There is no difference between the CPI and the CPI(M) on PM SHRI. Kerala will not implement PM SHRI or the National Education Policy. There is no MoU on this issue,” he said.

Expressing concern over the electoral process, he said, “The vote-theft allegation is real. Our EVMs are not foolproof. We are genuinely worried about the future of Indian democracy.”
