Leaders pay tributes to Ambedkar in Puducherry on his death anniversary

Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, legislators, leaders of various political parties and social organisations paid tributes to Dr B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of India’s Constitution, on his death anniversary on Saturday. 

They garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar in front of the Assembly and later visited the Manimandapam constructed in his name on the Beach Road. 

Others who garlanded the statue, included Speaker R. Selvam, Home Minister A. Namassivayam, Minister for Public Works K. Lakshminarayanan, former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, Opposition leader and DMK convenor R. Siva, leaders representing BJP, Left parties, AIADMK, VCK and Dalit organisations. 

Political parties also held separate programmes in their party offices to mark the death anniversary of the late leader.
