LKG student run over near Gudiyatham

A four-year-old LKG student of a private school was run over by the school’s van at Varada Reddy Palli village near Gudiyatham town in Vellore.

Police said the deceased was identified as J. Keerthisha.  Initial inquiry revealed that Keerthisha was picked up by the school van. On her return, she was dropped near the bus terminus in the village.

Unaware that Keerthisha was walking alongside the van, its driver K. Tamil Selvan, 30, hit her. In the impact, Keerthisha fell in front of the vehicle and it ran over her. 

Van driver nabbed

Immediately, passersby and other motorists  nabbed the van driver. Based on an alert from the public, Paradarami police rushed to the spot.

The body was sent to Government Taluk Hospital in Gudiyatham for postmortem. The police registered a case. An investigation is under way.
