The Labour Progressive Federation led protests here on Friday slamming the roll out of the new labour codes.
In Hosur, the protests were led by LPF district secretary R. Gopalakrishnan, where the protesters slammed the BJP-led Union government for reducing 44 labour legislations into four labour codes.
The notification of the labour codes on November 21 triggered protests across the country from trade unions across party lines. The protesters here condemned the government alleging that the codes were pro-employers and anti-workers, that undid centuries of labour struggles that built up labour protections into legislative action.
In Dharmapuri, the LPF led protests saw significant number of women participating in the agitation against the labour codes.
The DMKās trade union demanded a roll back of the code and reinstating the labour laws.
