The Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) hosted a high-level business delegation from the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Republic of Korea, on Wednesday in Chennai.
This was a follow up on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in 2015 between the MCCI and BCCI on reviving cooperation in logistics, manufacturing, marine supplies, and smart technologies. Yang Jae Saeng, president, BCCI, highlighted the shared strengths of Busan and Chennai as maritime and industrial hubs with opportunities for complementary growth. Chang-nyun Kim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, noted the growing economic synergy between Tamil Nadu and South Korea.
Speaking at the event, Ramkumar Shankar, president, MCCI said: “Together, Tamil Nadu and Busan represent two dynamic gateways — one to South Asia and the other to Northeast Asia — offering immense potential for collaboration.”
