Award for excellence

Vikaasa World School received Pinnacle Performer Award 2025–26 by Cambridge English Language Assessments for the school’s outstanding performance in English language learning and achievement. Headmistress Vinola Thomas received the award. “This recognition reaffirms our dedication to nurturing confident, articulate, and globally competent learners,” said Ms. Thomas.

N. M. S. Sermathai Vasan College for Women, Madurai, Department of Physics, Eureka Physics Association and Tamil Nadu Science Forum jointly celebrated Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s birth anniversary as World Students’s Day.

Principal (in charge) and vice president of Tamil Nadu Science Forum, Head Department of Physics M. Kavitha, welcomed. M.D. Creative Image Education, Madurai, Anusha Arunachalam, was the chief guest. She gave a speech on ‘Imagination to Innovation Transforming ideas into opportunities’. She explained the suntainable goals for development with soft skill improvement and science technology. Assistant Professor A.Deepa proposed a vote of thanks.

Virudhunagar T.S.M. Manickam Nadar – Janaki Ammal School in Teppakulam, Madurai, hosted its annual Inter School Cultural Competition – 38th Lakshna and 30th Oviya Inter School Cultural Art and Craft Competitions under the theme ‘Quest for Excellence’. Around 30 schools, 775 students have participated from Madurai and the surrounding areas.

Idhayam Rajendran School, Madurai, ranked top in both Lakshna and Oviya competitions. Keswick Public School, Madurai, was the runner-up in the Lakshna competition, and Sri Aurobindo Mira Universal School, Madurai, was the runner-up in the Oviya competition

Chief guest Mukunth Jeyasingh distributed the prizes.

The Preschool students of Lakshmi School celebrated Family Bonding Day. The event aimed to involve parents in school activities and create awareness about the importance of spending quality time with children. Grandparents, parents, and children showcased their talents through performances based on five creative themes.

Cycling trip

Vallaba Vidyalaya School, Alagar Kovil Road, Madurai, in line with its vision to “create and nurture responsible, well-rounded global citizens with values,” has planned a cycling trip for Class XI students from Madurai to Gangaikondacholapuram on November 7 and 8. Teachers S. Sathiya Narayanan and P. Pandiyarajan are coordinating the trip.
