Mahaparinirvan Diwas was observed to commemorate the death anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar in Yadgir and Raichur on Saturday.

MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur garlanded the statue of B.R. Ambedkar at a programme held in Yadgir. Mr. Tunnur said Dr. Ambedkar was a great lawyer, economist, social reformer, freedom fighter, and architect of the Indian Constitution under which every citizen of this country got equal rights.

“People are living a respectful life with the facilities irrespective of the caste and religion,” he said.

Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar said that Ambedkar drafted a powerful Constitution for the citizens after Independence.

In Raichur, MLA Basanagouda Daddal garlanded the statue of Ambedkar. Deputy Commissioner Nitish K, Superintendent of Police Puttamadaiah and others were present.
