Man arrested for cheating job-seeker’s father to tune of ₹26.25 lakh

The District Crime Branch police have arrested one person who allegedly cheated a job-seeker’s father to the tune of ₹26.25 lakh in the guise of getting clerical job in ESIC Hospital.

According to prosecution, Syed Ahmed Kabeer, 41, of Tirunelveli Town, who introduced himself to Gopalakrishnan of Bharathiyar Nagar near Suththamalli as the Administrative Officer of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation Hospital, promised him to get employment in the hospital for his daughter. Subsequently, Kabeer took ₹26.25 lakh from Mr. Gopalakrishnan with the promise of getting clerical post in the ESIC Hospital.

When Kabeer failed get the job for her daughter, Mr. Gopalakrishnan asked Kabeer to return the money, but he refused.

Based on the complaint from Mr. Gopalakrishnan, Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan directed the District Crime Branch to probe the case. After the investigation proved that Kabeer had taken the huge sum from the victim in the guise of getting job for his daughter, the police arrested him on Tuesday.
