The Manali police in Chennai arrested a 31-year-old man for the murder of his 30-year-old live-in partner on Sunday (November 30, 2025) night.Â
A senior official of the City police said Priyanka, who was married to Selvendran, a resident of 7th Street, J.J. Nagar in Vyasarpadi, had left him and was in a relationship with Govindaraj, a resident of Nerkundram.Â
Priyanka had left home last Wednesday (November 26) and returned on home on Sunday. Govindaraj, who was in an inebriated condition, became suspicious of her fidelity and an argument ensued. During the verbal duel, Govindaraj stabbed Priyanka in the neck and stomach with a broken glass bottle. Priyanka died on the spot.
The Manali police, on being alerted, sent Priyanka’s body to the Government Stanley Hospital for an autopsy.
