The Chennai police have arrested a man on charges of sexually harassing a 26-year-old woman in Ashok Nagar.
The woman, a native of Bengaluru, works as a manager in one of the divisions of a textile shop in Chennai. On Monday (November 10), after lunch, she was walking along Nagarjuna 2nd Street in Kodambakkam when a man on a two-wheeler approached her and allegedly sexually harassed her before fleeing the scene.
Based on her complaint, the Ashok Nagar police registered a case and began an investigation. The police conducted a detailed inquiry at the spot and scrutinised CCTV footage, leading to the arrest of Subramanian, 44, of Kodambakkam. The police also seized the two-wheeler used during the crime. Investigation revealed that the accused already had a previous case registered against him.
