Two persons were arrested on Tuesday for bludgeoning to death a 25-year-old man in Samaypur Badli, north Delhi, said a police officer.
The incident occurred on Sunday around 10 p.m., when Manish and Santosh Kumar Srivastva, 40, went to a spot near an underpass to confront Babu, 22, who had allegedly threatened Manish.
A verbal argument ensued between them and Mr. Babu. Two of Mr. Babu’s accomplices then joined him, after which Manish and Mr. Srivastava were attacked with stones.
Manish suffered a severe head injury and was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
Police registered a case under sections 103(1) (punishment for murder) and 109(1) (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and arrested Mr. Babu and Sumit, 23, one of his acquaintances.
The officer said Mr. Babu had also been involved in another murder case in the same area. Police have recovered the murder weapons and conducting a probe to ascertain the role of the other individuals, the officer added.
