A 32-year-old daily-wage labourer, who was assaulted by a group of people on Saturday objecting to his alleged affair with a woman, succumbed to his injuries at K.C. General Hospital.
The deceased, Narasimharaja, is a resident of Mutyalamma Nagar.
On Tuesday, Dhanalakshmi, the sister of the deceased, alleged that her brother had been in an affair with a widow for the past two and a half years, which was objected to by her family members.
“The woman often came home and stayed with him on the first floor of our house. On Saturday, she came and went inside a room. A few minutes later, her family members, including her father, brothers, and relatives barged into the house, dragged Narasimharaja outside and assaulted him,” Dhanalakshmi alleged.
Narasimharaja’s mother, who was at home at the time of the incident, was also assaulted when she tried to save her son, the family said.
Narasimharaja was taken to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. The family also claimed that even after the complaint was filed, the police have not arrested the accused so far and shared CCTV footage to the media and demanded immediate action against the accused.
Meanwhile, the police clarified that a case of suspicious death had been registered, and they were waiting for the post-mortem and FSL report for further course of action.
