A 25-year-old youth was found murdered on a private land near Minjur in Tiruvallur district on Thursday.
He had cases pending against him, and had recently been released on conditional bail. According to the family, Ranjith went out on Wednesday evening with a friend and did not return. When his mobile phone was found switched off and he could not be traced, his relatives searched for him throughout the night, and found his body the next morning.
They alerted the Minjur police, who sent the body for a post-mortem. They are probing multiple angles — whether the killing is linked to a love affair or a clash due to Ranjith’s pending criminal cases, or enmity.
