A man, who was released on bail recently, hurled a molotov cocktail at a house in Periya Pudur here on Saturday (November 29, 2025).
The police said that Sivaraj (36), and Babu (25) are neighbours residing at Pidari Amman Kovil Street in Periya Pudur. In the wee hours of Saturday, an unidentified person set fire to Babu’s two-wheeler and hurled a molotov cocktail at Sivaraj’s house. In the attack, the vehicle was completely destroyed, and Sivaraj’s house’s front door was damaged. Neighbours extinguished the fire.
On information, the Alagapuram police came to the spot and verified the CCTV footage in the locality and identified the individual as Santhoshkumar (23), a resident of the same locality. In July this year, he was arrested for hurling molotov cocktail at an eatery in the locality. The Alagapuram police registered a case and are on the lookout for Santhoshkumar.
