A man, who had earlier been granted anticipatory bail in a case of causing a woman to become pregnant under the false promise of marriage, has been arrested again for assaulting her in Puzhal.
The police said the 30-year-old woman, who was living separately from her husband, had been in a relationship with Murali, 26, of Kolappancheri, Tiruvallur district, who worked as a driver at her workplace. After she became pregnant, Murali allegedly refused to marry her, prompting her to file a complaint earlier at the Puzhal All Women Police Station.
On September 28, Murali called the woman to meet him near Puzhal lake, allegedly abused and assaulted her, and later issued death threats. Based on her complaint, the Puzhal police registered a case and arrested Murali.
