Mr. Ravi said that of the several Bhavans in the country, the Chennai Kendra has been vibrant in taking several initiatives by organising art and music functions to elevate the city as the cultural capital of the country. He felicitated musicians Shesampatti T. Sivalingam, A. Kanyakumari and Embaar Kannan.
V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT-Madras, said a course on combining maths and music is on the cards along with an incubation centre for preserving the swara patterns of various Carnatic music artists. Carnatic music is a perfect example for exponential growth, he said, and wanted students to learn Carnatic music to achieve good results.
