The Educational Multimedia Research Centre under the University of Calicut launched massive open online courses in Malayalam on Tuesday. Governor and Chancellor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar formally opened the courses at an event held at the Lok Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram.
According to university sources, these courses are in Geo-Informatics, Green Chemistry, Medieval Kerala History, Tourism, Heritage and Culture, Tourism Concepts, and Sustainable Development. The six-month-long courses have been prepared in line with the four-year undergraduate programme.
Registration has opened and the admission is free. Undergraduate and postgraduate students will get between two to four credit points in their credit bank after the completion of the courses. The classes will begin in January.
