Two Maoists, including a girl, who had been arrested by the Krishna district police on November 18, were identified as minors.

During ‘Operation Sambhav’, the OCTOPUS and Penamaluru police arrested 28 Maoists from a private building at New Auto Nagar in Krishna district.

The police produced them in court on November 19, and mentioned the age of the two Maoists as 20 and 22.

However, the court gave judicial remand to 24 Maoists, and sought age certificate for the remaining four, as they looked like minors.

During ossification test, it was determined that two Maoists were minors and the other two majors.

“In the government hospital, it has been determined that two arrested Maoists are minors. We will produce them before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB),” a police officer investing the case told The Hindu on Thursday.
