The ESD (Electronic Services Delivery) MeeSeva management has dismissed reports of widespread delays in issuing caste and income certificates, stating that the system has been functioning normally and continues to clear applications within expected timelines. An official release from them said the recent concerns were based on isolated incidents that were addressed the same day, with no impact on overall service delivery.
According to data from November 24 to November 29, citizens submitted 83,218 caste certificate applications and 98,244 income certificate applications. MeeSeva reissued 46,133 caste certificates and 1,210 income certificates during the same period. Across all categories, the platform processed 2,28,805 applications.
MeeSeva officials said these numbers contradicted claims of system breakdowns and instead reflected an increase in citizen footfall that the platform managed without significant disruption. They added that routine monitoring and technical fine-tuning kept service uptime high and that minor delays at a few centres were rectified immediately.
The department reiterated its commitment to transparent, timely and citizen-friendly service delivery, adding that MeeSeva would continue strengthening its systems to handle growing demand without letting queues spill into frustration.
