Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan on Thursday held a meeting with the representatives of recognised political parties regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to be taken up in Dindigul district.

The Collector, in a statement, said the Election Commission of India has announced Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls. Various changes have occurred in the electoral rolls due to transfers, registration of same voter in multiple places, non-deletion of deceased voters and incorrect inclusion of foreign nationals.

After completing training of the personnel to be involved in SIR, the door-to-door check would be held between November 4 and December 4. The enumeration form will contain the names of the voters in the current electoral roll and the necessary details.

The personnel would visit each house and distribute two copies of the application and facilitate the filling-up of applications. The personnel will provide the necessary assistance. The forms should be filled and submitted. Voters are not required to submit any documents along with the form. The personnel will visit each house at least thrice to verify.

The names of all the voters whose enumeration forms are received during the enumeration process will be included in the draft electoral roll. The draft electoral roll will be released based on the information collected from the electorate. Notice will be given to those whose names were not included. After receiving the objections or corrections, if any, from the aggrieved voters, the final electoral roll will be released.
