The Movement for Gender and Sexual Pluralism (MGSP) has strongly condemned the brutal assault, abduction, illegal detention, and forced head shaving of Sukanya, a 24-year-old transgender woman in Bengaluru.

MGSP State co-chairperson Vaishali on Monday stated that the October 31 attack could have been fatal without the swift intervention of civil society groups. She emphasised that such violence is not isolated, citing similar attacks in Doddaballapur (May 2024), Vijayapura (June 2024), Mysuru (September 2024), and Kalaburagi (March 2025).

The MGSP urged immediate action to protect transgender persons and called for justice and accountability for the perpetrators of these recurring hate crimes.
