Migrant worker dies as wall collapses in Kozhikode

A migrant worker from Odisha died after a compound wall collapsed on him during construction work at Kakkodi in Kozhikode.

Uday Manji and two other workers had been building a compound wall for a new house when the old wall of an adjacent plot collapsed and fell on them. The three were rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, where Manji was declared brought dead.

The two others, who sustained minor injuries, are undergoing treatment at the hospital. Fire and Rescue Services personnel from the Vellimadukunnu station rushed to the spot and rescued the workers, as residents found it difficult to move the heavy debris.
