A team of four officers from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) reportedly conducted a search on the premises of Indra, daughter of Tamil Nadu Minister I. Periasamy here on Friday.
According to reliable sources, the officers, including a woman, entered the premises in Valluvar Nagar, R M Colony here around forenoon. They left after about seven hours of search.
Though there was no official word about the purpose of the search, sources said that the officials left with incriminating documents from the house. While no one from outside was permitted to enter the house, Deputy Mayor Rajappa, who came there, sat in the veranda. Objecting to his presence, the officers reportedly directed him to vacate the premises.
Sources said that Ms Indra owns textile units in Sempatti and Batlagundu in Dindigul district.
There was a search on August 16 and 17 at the houses of the Minister, his MLA son I P Senthil Kumar and Ms Indra by the officials from the Directorate of Enforcement.
