Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy responded positively to implementing orders regarding the journalist housing project in Amaravati.
According to a press release, representatives of the Amaravati Journalist Housing Society met the Minister at the Secretariat on Tuesday, and explained to him that 30 acres at Mandadam and Thulluru were allotted to the society in 2019 for construction of a multi-storied complex for journalists.
The society had then requested the State government to ensure that the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) was the developer of the project. The allotted land, therefore, was returned to the government. The State government later issued G.O. No. 107, stating that the project would be built on the lines of Happy Nest, a housing project in Amaravati.
The society members requested Mr. Parthasarathy to ensure that the Government Order was followed. The Minister assured them that he would bring the government orders and the society’s request to the notice of Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Ponguru Narayana and CRDA Commissioner K. Kanna Babu. The Minister also promised to hold discussions with the officials to ensure early implementation of the project.
