Home and Industries Minister A. Namassivayam said he has extended an invitation to Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu for starting a software development centre in Puducherry.

Mr. Namassivayam, who met Mr. Vembu at Mathalamparai Zoho Campus for the second time in less than a month on Thursday, said he had invited him to Puducherry to establish a software development centre. Such a unit could pave the way for providing new avenues of job opportunities for the youth and contribute towards the development of the Union Territory, he said in a note.

The Minister during his visit toured the state-of-the-art facility on the Zoho campus and interacted with the engineers. “I have invited him to Puducherry for investing in the Union Territory. Zoho’s presence in the region will be a big encouragement for the youth, employment generation and digital development,” the note said.
