Two tribal girls, aged 10 and 11, from Pedabayalu mandal ran away from their residential school and took shelter on a nearby hill for a few days in Alluri Sitharama Raju district. The district police managed to trace the two girls after an extensive search operation carried out with the help of drones. Police confirmed that the girls decision to run away from the school stemmed from their disinterest in studies.

According to the district police, the two minor girls, natives of Kinchuru village and students at the Government Tribal Welfare Girls Residential School in Pedabayalu, went missing from the school on November 6. After receiving a complaint from the school authorities, three police teams were deployed with drones and located the girls on a hill close to their village.

Investigations revealed that the girls had survived for a day and a half with the food and blankets they had carried with them. The police later reunited the minors with their parents.
