Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLC Beeda Ravi Chandra issued a defamation notice to Y.S. Bharati Reddy, owner of Jagathi Publications Limited (Sakshi Group), and its Editor-in-Chief Dhanunjaya Reddy for attributing false imputations to him in some land transactions in Nellore district.
Mr. Ravi Chandra called the reports that appeared in the Sakshi media, wherein he was accused of getting properties worth about ₹200 crore belonging to one Malepati Subba Naidu transferred to his family members, as biased, partial and prejudiced.
Advocate P.V.G. Umesh Chandra mentioned in the notice dated October 30, 2025 that the Sakshi media reported that his client had the impugned lands situated in the vicinity of Ramayapatnam port transferred to his family members when Mr. Subba Naidu was on death bed, in order to malign him with mala fide intentions.
The notice is for paying ₹10 crore within a week and tendering an unconditional apology for damaging Mr. Ravi Chandra’s reputation, failing which the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita will be invoked.
