A woman and her son were killed in a road accident on Mysuru Road on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Ashwini, 41, and her son Abhilash, 19 , residents of Gorralahatti.
The accident occurred around 7.30 a.m. Abhilash was riding the motorcycle and was going towards the City Market to drop off Ashwini at the hospital, where she worked as a security guard.
According to the police, Abhilash attempted to ride through a narrow gap between a car and a moving goods container. The bike reportedly brushed against one of the vehicles, causing him to lose control and slip under the container.
Both mother and son fell on the road, sustaining severe head injuries. They died within seconds of the impact, the police said.
The Byatarayanapura Traffic Police visited the spot, conducted a mahazar, and shifted the bodies for post-mortem. A case has been registered.
