Mother fined ₹26,000 for allowing her minor son to drive motorcycle in Mangaluru

A Mangaluru court on Wednesday (November 5, 2025) imposed a penalty of ₹26,000 on a woman for allowing her minor son to drive her motorcycle.

The fourth Judicial Magistrate First Class, Shilpa Byadgi, imposed the penalty after Hatijamma, on Wednesday (November 5), pleaded guilty to allowing her minor son to drive the motorcycle registered in her name.

Hatijamma was convicted for offences punishable under Section 4 read with Section 181 and Section 199 (A) of Motor Vehicles Act. The Mangaluru Traffic North Police had registered a case in this connection.
