Motorcyclist falls into drainage canal, dies in Vemulawada

A 24-year-old youth died after the two-wheeler he was riding fell into a drainage canal in Vemulawada town of Rajanna Sircilla district around Wednesday midnight.

The deceased was identified as Abinav, a resident of Uppugadda locality in the temple town. He had been working as a contract worker at Baddi Pochamma temple in the town, sources said. The incident occurred late in the night while he was heading home on his motorcycle. 

A CCTV footage of the incident showed the motorcycle falling straight into the drainage canal after the rider apparently lost control of the two-wheeler. His body was recovered from the drainage canal in the early hours of Thursday. 

A case has been registered and a detailed investigation is underway.
