MP appointed member of advisory committee

As per the recommendations of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, the Finance Ministry has appointed S. Selvaganabathy, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), as a member of the Regional Direct Taxes Advisory Committee functioning under the Income Tax Department of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. 

A release here said the Committee would act as a bridge between taxpayers and the Income Tax Department to foster cooperation for resolving common administrative and procedural problems faced by taxpayers. 

According to the release, the Committee was also mandated to collect suggestions and inputs from various stakeholders, including traders, industrialists, manufacturers and educational/charitable institutions to understand their perspectives on direct tax administration and services and submit the necessary recommendations to the Finance Ministry.
