Naidu, Lokesh praise Indian women’s cricket team for historic win

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, and officials from the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) heaped praises on the Indian Women’s Cricket team for their historic win over Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup Semi-Finals. The elected representatives took to social media to convey their wishes and shared that they would be rooting for the team to clinch their maiden World Cup title.

Mr. Naidu in his post on ‘X’ platform wrote, “Take a bow, Team India! Proud of our country’s women’s cricket team for creating history by marching into the finals of the Women’s World Cup with a spectacular win over Australia in the semi-finals. Special praise for Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur, who played the innings of their lives to chase down a 300-plus total in an ODI World Cup knockout for the first time ever. Keep gunning for glory — we’re cheering for you all!

Mr. Lokesh also congratulated the team on ‘X’ stating, “A stellar win by India’s women against Australia! Undeterred by the early loss of wickets, Jemimah Rodrigues played a stunning innings to deliver a thumping victory. Harmanpreet Kaur displayed remarkable composure and confidence, ably supporting Jemimah with a crucial 89. Proud of this fearless team marching into the final. Jai Hind!”

Meanwhile, ACA President, Kesineni Sivanath specially mentioned about the innings of Jemimah Rodrigues for her matching winning performance.

ACA Secretary Sana Satish Babu exclaimed “Wah, what a chase! A historic triumph, the highest successful run chase in Women’s ODI World Cup knockout history! You didn’t just win, you shattered records and redefined the face of women’s cricket”
