Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu along with HRD Minister Nara Lokesh will attend a mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) at AP Model School in Bhamini mandal of Parvathipuram-Manyam district on December 5.
The government has issued guidelines to be followed for the successful conduct of similar mega Parent-Teacher Meetings in schools and junior colleges across the State.
The School Management Committee members and teachers have been asked to prepare invitation cards, inviting parents and guardians, and to upload the invitee details and photographs of the invitation moments in the LEAP app. School managements have been instructed to use the school grant funds for the activities.
Director, School Education V. Vijay Rama Raju in a statement on Wednesday said: “School campuses should be decorated to create a festive atmosphere, with proper planning of seating arrangements and refreshments.”
Mr. Rama Raju further added that school campuses and premises have to be cleaned and physical activities and games should be conducted. Teachers should explain to parents about the students’ learning outcomes in a holistic progress chart format and through an assessment booklet. Parents will be informed about the various initiatives being implemented in schools such as midday meal scheme, Atal Tinkering Labs, Jilelm Labs, art and craft activities, access to library books, sports kits, self-defense programmes, and other initiatives.
Videos related to the Guaranteed FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) and awareness programmes on good touch and bad touch, child abuse, school development and other topics will be uploaded on mobile phones to create awareness among parents.
Suggestions and feedback from parents and invitees will be recorded and school action plans for development would be prepared accordingly. He asked parents, education enthusiasts, and public representatives to participate actively and make the programme a success.
