BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister M. K. Stalin is adopting a divide-and-rule strategy, using the Tirupparankundram issue.
While addressing the media here, he pointed out that if the HR&CE Department had not gone for an appeal immediately after the court’s order, none of these problems would have arisen.
Mr. Nagenthran further said that with the Assembly elections approaching, the CM has used the police force to provoke unrest at Tirupparankundarm, in order to create an issue. He alleged that Mr. Stalin is engaging in such things for vote bank politics. He added, “Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s police department does no other work. But if anything is against temples they immediately take action.”
“The DMK government has been functioning in a biased manner, a government that is against Hindu people,” he said. He also observed that “To put it more frankly, not a single Islamic organisation or any other organisation has expressed their opposition (regarding lighting of lamp at the pillar in Tirupparankundram).”
Mr. Nagenthran also reiterated, “It is Mr. M.K. Stalin who is adopting divide and rule strategy. As Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin stated that sanatana dharma should be eliminated, they have now begun implementing that agenda from Tirupparankundram.”
