Bharatiya Janata Party’s Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran on Monday criticised the DMK government for neglecting Theni district.
Addressing the public during his ‘Tamilagam Thalai Nimira Tamilanin Payanam’ programme held in Theni district, he said the DMK had completely ignored the farmers and their plight.
The natural resources of Theni district were being plundered and exploited. The DMK government had done nothing to address the issue. The farmers were disappointed with the DMK, he said.
“The State was grappling with several serious issues like sand theft, corruption, ganja and law and order issues. Farmers and cattle owners who own ‘malaimadu’, a particular variety of native cattle were unable to take the cattle for grazing as the forest officials were interfering,” he said.
Crimes, particularly against women, custodial tortures and deaths had increased under the DMK regime, he said, adding that the people were tired of the DMK government. The countdown of DMK’s fall had already begun, he said.
