Nara Bhuvaneshwari, wife of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday inaugurated a ‘Chai Raasta’ outlet operated by DWCRA women in Kuppam. The government initiative is part of a mission to nurture at least one entrepreneur in every family.
After opening the outlet, Ms. Bhuvaneshwari bought the inaugural cup of tea and praised the flavour and cleanliness. She welcomed the involvement of IIM and IIT graduates in shaping the concept, calling ‘Chai Raasta’ a refreshing and forward-looking model. She reiterated the government’s commitment to helping women become successful entrepreneurs and urged DWCRA groups to make full use of the opportunity, noting that such ventures offer women assured monthly income, dignity and social recognition. She added that ‘Chai Raasta’ outlets would be launched across towns and cities in the State in the coming months, creating a wider network of women-driven micro-enterprises.
Chai Raasta CEO Michael Joshi said the model would provide DWCRA women with stable earnings and a sense of empowerment. Directors Poludasu Kiran and Ontipuli Poornachandra Rao said the outlets are equipped with modern technology to help women manage operations with ease.
