Benley George, Professor and Head, Dept of Public Health Dentistry of Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences, Thiruvalla, has received the National Charaka Award 2025 for Excellence in Public Health Dentistry , instituted by the Indian Dental Association.
The award was presented by Gustavo Gonzalez, Consulate General of Chile, at an award ceremony held at Mumbai on November 8. A statement said Dr. Benley George has been instrumental in conducting an International Oral Cancer screening project for the community in Kerala. He has also worked in a Kerala State project for assessment of oral health status of school children in Thiruvalla municipality and conducted over 1,300 dental screening and treatment camps for the community and oral health education programmes in central Travancore.
