
Minister for Cooperation and Civil Supplies R. Sakkarapani distributing shields to best Co-operative Societies at a function held in Dindigul on Thursday.

The 72nd National Cooperative Week celebrations were held in Dindigul and Theni districts on Thursday.
In Dindigul, Minister for Cooperation and Civil Supplies R. Sakkarapani distributed welfare assistance to the tune of ₹50.03 crore to a total of 4,506 beneficiaries in the presence of Dindigul MP R. Sachithanantham, Palani MLA I. P. Senthilkumar, Vedasandur MLA S. Gandhirajan and others.
Minister Sakkarapani said the State government was implementing various welfare schemes for the benefit of the farmers and the people through cooperative societies. He also inaugurated an exhibition organised as part of the celebrations. The best performing cooperative societies in Dindigul district were awarded certificates.
In Theni, Collector Ranjeet Singh, MP Thanga Tamil Selvan, Periyakulam MLA K. S. Saravana Kumar and others distributed welfare assistance to the tune of ₹11.16 crore to a total of 1,141 beneficiaries. An exhibition was also organised as part of the celebrations. The best performing cooperative societies in Theni district were awarded certificates.
