As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, Seva-in-Action is organising a two-day national seminar on Leveraging Policy for Education and Skill Development – A Decade of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016, in Bengaluru on January 30 and 31.
The seminar is being organised in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of India, at the St. John’s Medical College, Lecture Hall 1, Gate 2, Sarjapur Road, Bengaluru.
The event will bring together policymakers, practitioners, academicians and disability rights advocates to review the impact of the RPwD Act over the past decade, with a specific focus on education and skill development for persons with disabilities.
Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Vijrendra Kumar will be the chief guest. Keynote address will be delivered by A. Srija, Economic Adviser, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Participants are expected to deliberate on policy implementation, emerging challenges and future directions to strengthen inclusive education and employment ecosystems.
