Principal Secretary (Energy) Navin Mittal has asked the officials concerned to take steps for construction of a 28 MW solar power plant at the Kakatiya Thermal Power Plant (KTPP) in Chelpur of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.

Mr. Mittal, along with Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TS-Genco) Chairman and Managing Director S. Harish, inspected the Unit-1 and Unit-2 of the KTPP and reviewed their functioning on Tuesday.

Later, he visited the Tadicherla-I Coal Block Opencast Mine (OCP) at Tadicherla village.

He held a review meeting with the officials concerned on the premises of the OCP.

The officials apprised him of the process for acquisition of required land for laying the conveyor belt from Tadicherla to the KTPP for hassle-free movement of coal thereby reducing the burden on vehicular transportation, official sources said.

Mr. Mittal suggested that the land acquisition process be completed expeditiously and rehabilitation measures be implemented by following due procedure in a transparent manner.
