The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, began a five-day official visit to the United States on Wednesday (November 12, 2025), to strengthen the maritime partnership between the naval forces of the two nations.

During the visit, Admiral Tripathi will meet senior officials of the U.S. Department of Defense, Adm Samuel J. Paparo, Commander, US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), and Adm Stephen T. Koehler, Commander, US Pacific Fleet (USPACFLT), among others.

It was informed that talks will focus on enhancing maritime cooperation, information sharing, and operational coordination between the two navies.

He will also visit key U.S. naval institutions and commands to discuss shared priorities in the Indo-Pacific and collaboration in multilateral initiatives such as MILAN and the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF).

The visit reflects the Indian Navy’s commitment to a stronger India–U.S. maritime partnership and a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific.
