A new Bharosa Centre, aimed at providing comprehensive support to women and children in distress, was inaugurated at Shamshabad on Friday (October 31) by Telangana Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy. The centre, established under the Cyberabad lolice commissionerate, will extend its services across 17 police stations in the Rajendranagar and Shamshabad zones.
Operated by a trained team of women personnel, the Shamshabad Bharosa Centre will offer integrated services, including legal assistance, medical care, psychological counselling and access to government compensation schemes for victims, particularly those covered under the POCSO Act. The centre’s jurisdiction spans Rajendranagar, Mailardevpally, Attapur, Chevella, Shabad, Moinabad, Shamshabad, RGIA, Kothur, Nandigama, Shadnagar, Kondurg, Chowdariguda, Keshampet, Amangal, Kadthal and Talakondapally.
The centre will operate with an eight-member team comprising a receptionist, a coordinator-cum-administrator, a legal counsellor, two counsellors, a support person, an auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) and an accountant, in addition to a sub-inspector and assistant sub-inspector for supervision.
Speaking at the event, DGP Reddy described the Bharosa Centres as one-stop crisis support systems that provide justice, protection and emotional care under one roof. Currently, 33 Bharosa Centres operate across 24 districts and six Police commissionerates. Managed by the Telangana police with support from the Telangana government and the Department of Women Development and Child Welfare, the centres are monitored by the Women Safety Wing and have been recognised nationally as a best practice in victim-centric policing.

Representatives from BBG, including Director M.V. Mallikarjun Reddy, CEO Mukund Tavang, Vice-President (Bangarutalli Foundation) Pawan Kumar, Sales Head P. Srinivas Rao and team member K.
